Municipal Biodiversity Summary Project

Municipalities have a significant role to play in biodiversity conservation. In support of this role, the Department of Environmental Affairs (DEA) and the South African National Biodiversity Institute (SANBI) identified the need to provide municipalities with good quality biodiversity information that is easily accessible. The Municipal Biodiversity Summary Project aims to make biodiversity information, including spatial data, available to municipalities to support them in their reporting responsibilities such as the drafting of State of Environment Reports.
